What's Happening At CAP?
You may have seen articles or posts in local media lately about CAP's upcoming move.
Here are some Frequently Asked Questions and Answers!
Where is CAP moving? CAP is opening a new facility just 0.8 miles up the road at 20700 N. Main St. Suite 112, Cornelius, NC 28031 in the Chair Factory building. (where you may have seen El Paraiso Restaurant, Elie's Cafe and Dancin' Kids.)
Why is CAP moving? The end of August marks the end of CAP's current contract with the Town of Cornelius. We have been in a very beneficial partnership teaching classes for the Town in the Cornelius Arts Center for 5 1/2 years now. Town is moving to a business model which includes many different vendors/teachers providing classes in the Arts Center, so no one vendor will have permanent offices at the Center.
What exactly is moving? CAP will continue to be the sole provider of Ceramics Classes and the Ceramics studio is NOT moving at this time. Our CAP offices will move and we will also offer classes at our new facility studio space in the Fall Session, beginning the week of Sept. 16. We will be taking all of our furniture and supplies over to the new place and the Town will re-upfit the Center to operate for the Fall Session.
Will there still be classes at the Cornelius Arts Center? YES! There will be a huge selection of classes at the center this Fall! Some will be taught by your favorite CAP Instructors and others will be taught by new teachers and vendors for the Town.
How can I help CAP? CAP is very budget conscious and we are trying to complete this move with as few expenses as possible. We have created a "Donate Now" button on this page as well as a project at the link below. Supporters may donate funds or check out our Donations Page (click here) to see what other types of goods, services and volunteers that we need at this time.
Right now we are also collecting Packing Tape at the front of the office to help us pack up for the move.
